Boratwas an eye-opening film in many ways, but there were two things in particular that it really helped put on the map: Kazakhstan and the mankini.

Six men from the Czech Republic were arrested and fined for "minor hooliganism" after they wore Borat's favourite piece of beachwear while visiting Kazakhstan, reported the BBC.
They were fined 22,500 Tenge ($67.7) each.
Well, word of their plight eventually made it back to the man behind Borat himself, Sacha Baron Cohen. And in the early hours of Tuesday morning, he came to their rescue with a Facebook post:
"To my Czech mates who were arrested," reads the statement. "Send me your details and proof that it was you, and I'll pay your fine."
The contact email is the crowning touch: [email protected].
