Airline makes a sarcastic dig at Trump on Election Day

"Just in case he wins... Travel to the U.S. while you're still allowed to!"

That was the advice on a Royal Jordanian airlines advert Tuesday as Donald Trump went head to head with Hillary Clinton for the presidency.

The ad, which was tweeted with emoji of an orange and a a no entry sign by Jordan's flagship carrier, was a reference to Trump's rhetoric regarding Muslims and immigrants in the U.S. Some 93% of the population of Jordan is Muslim.

The ad also highlighted some of the carrier's fares to Chicago, Detroit and New York.

The ad got mixed reviews on Twitter, where followers thought it was either the best marketing campaign of the year or just plain silly, stupid and trashy.

In December 2015, Trump called for a "complete and total shutdown" of Muslims entering the U.S.

His comments came in the wake of the San Bernardino shootings in California and were followed by similar sentiments through the course of 2016, although Trump later switched the focus to countries with a history of terrorism.

In October, the candidate was roundly mocked on Twitter for suggesting Muslims should make a "report when they see something going on."
