iOS 17 moves the button to end phone calls

Phone calls on iPhones are about to get slightly more annoying.

By "slightly," I mean veryslightly. That's because Apple decided to move the button that ends phone calls to the bottom right corner of the screen during an active phone call in iOS 17. It now lives next to all the other buttons (mute, audio output selection, etc.) that used to be in the middle of the screen. Previously, for many years, it lived in the bottom centerportion of the screen, by itself.

This is obviously not some Earth-shattering alteration by any means, but that doesn't make it any less inexplicable. The old format worked perfectly fine; the other buttons were easy to access but hard to hit accidentally, while the button to end calls was given an appropriate amount of space, given how important it is. Now, everything is sort of thrown together at the bottom while the middle is conspicuously empty, at least during a voice call.
