Catch up on Twitter's top tweets from the past week-
This week on Twitter was dedicated mainly to the victims of the mass shooting at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida, as everyone took the time to show their support in whichever way they knew how.
Major tech conventions also happened. E3 and WWDC announced things like a new Zelda game and Mac software (respectively). Also, Zayn Malik saw support for his cancellation of show, and one Beyoncé fan powered through surgery so she could attend a concert.

In the wake of the Orlando shooting, cities around the world have declared their solidarity with the victims and wider LGBTQ movement. While some monuments, like the Eiffel Tower, lit up in rainbow colors, the Empire State Building in Manhattan went completely dark for a moment of silence.

Astrophysicist and voracious tweeter Neil DeGrasse Tyson also showed his support for the victims and LGBTQ community by posting several facts about rainbows. For those wondering, everyone sees each rainbow differently, we only consider indigo a color because Isaac Newton wanted seven colors, and the “end of the rainbow” doesn’t actually exist.

Chelsey Bunner, a huge Beyoncé fan, was initially upset when she learned that the Bey concert she had tickets to was the same day as her wisdom teeth surgery. But not even surgery was enough to stop Bunner from attending with bandages and ice packs. She called it the best night ever, even if she couldn't sing along.

At E3, short for the Electronic Entertainment Expo, every major video game developer displayed their upcoming games and projects. But one game dominated social media over all else, and it was Nintendo’s latest Legend of Zeldagame, Breath of the Wild. Unlike previous Zelda dungeon crawlers, this latest entry will be an open world game, with new crafting, cooking and survival mechanics. So, expect to spend a lot of time riding around on his horse, Epona (and luckily, Link can jump and climb now, too).

Zayn Malik, former boyband member who went off in his own one direction, was recently forced to cancel his performance at the Capital Summertime Ball in London due to severe anxiety he’s been struggling with. Model and TV star Gigi Hadid, Malik’s girlfriend, justifiably posted more than 140 characters in order to properly express her support during his struggle.

Mara Wilson, playwright and former child actor, showed her support for the LGBTQ community by reminiscing about her first time at a gay nightclub, and how she didn’t know at the time that she wasn’t actually that straight. She then told how that experience and the support of the wider community helped her learn something about herself.
9. #BlackGuyNerds get their moment

Popular account Black Girl Nerds tweeted casually that black guy nerds need love too, not expecting for the tweet to resonate as much as it ended up doing. The hashtag #BlackGuyNerds quickly became a home for black guy nerds everywhere, who were more than happy to show their love for superheroes, phasers and games.
10. Samantha Bee live tweets Congress

Attempting to break through heavy opposition to any new gun control laws, Democrats in the U.S. Senate organized a 15-hour filibuster. Samantha Bee, host of Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, live-tweeted the entire thing as she marked off hours and attempted to send pizza (the senators said no thanks). When the filibuster ended, Bee thanked the Senate GOP for compromising and that she’d see them again at the “next mass shooting."
