Sen. Bob Corker is retiring from office, and he's not holding back.

The Republican from Tennessee took to President Trump's favorite social network on Sunday to share his disdain for the boss:

This 🔥 tweet came shortly after several others from Trump, in which he aired his own grievances with Sen. Corker, who announced his looming retirement last week.

Trump's claim that Sen. Corker "begged" for the president's endorsement is fake news, CNN reported, citing two sources familiar with the matter. A source told HuffPost that Trump was the one who called Sen. Corker last week and asked him to reconsider his decision to retire. Sen. Corker had announced his retirement in September.

All this Twitter back-and-forth came days after Sen. Corker criticized Trump's behavior.

"I think Secretary Tillerson, Secretary Mattis, and Chief of Staff Kelly are those people that separate our country from chaos," Sen. Corker told reporters at Capitol Hill Wednesday, referring to the Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, and White House Chief of Staff, respectively.

Trump's tweetstorm also came shorty after White House budget director Mick Mulvaney spoke on on NBC's "Meet the Press" and said it would be "fun to work [with Corker] especially now that he's not running for re-election, because I think it sort of unleashes him to do whatever — and say whatever — he wants to say."

The Senator's frankness, in one tweet, inspired some love in the Twitter-verse.

Of course, some just want Sen. Corker to do his job. The Senate election in Tennessee is in November 2018, so he still has more than a year to help pass bills.

When it comes to his day job, Sen. Corker is one of the GOP's experts in foreign policy and has advised Trump to enforce the Iran Deal.
