It's finally Inauguration Day for President-elect Donald Trump but activists across the globe are having none of it.

Displaying messages of positivity on bridges, protesters are expressing solidarity with migrants and the need for equality.

Trump has promised to build a wall across the Mexican border to curb illegal immigration.

In London, a banner reading "Build bridges not walls" was draped across the iconic Tower Bridge.

Campaigners also held up letters reading "Act now!" as a speedboat with a black flag reading "build bridges not walls" raced down the River Thames

Protesters also unfurled banners on Westminster Bridge -- saying "Migrants welcome here" -- on Waterloo Bridge, London Bridge and on Millennium Bridge:
