Apple's iPhone 16 Pro: Replacing the battery is a lot pricier than before
Apple's iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max have the same starting price as last year's models, but replacing the battery on this phone is costlier than before.
According to Apple's iPhone Repair and Service page (first noticed by MacRumors), getting the battery replaced on the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max costs $119. The same type of repair costs $99 for the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, just as it was on last year's iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models.

This, of course, is for out-of-warranty battery replacement; if your phone is covered by warranty and its battery fails, Apple will replace it for free. The exact terms are as follows, per Apple's own page: "Your product is eligible for a battery replacement at no additional cost if you have AppleCare+ and your product's battery holds less than 80 percent of its original capacity."

We still haven't seen a teardown of the iPhone 16 Pro models, so we don't know what its internals look like. Apple did say that it reorganized the phone's insides and added larger batteries to its Pro models, which may be why the battery replacement has gotten pricier.
