Kanye West's playing the long game -- or the large game.
Earlier this month, Kanye really leaned into the middle-aged dad aesthetic for 2 Chainz's wedding. On August 18, he arrived at the venue dressed in a suit with no shirt and, like your unperturbed father running an errand on a Sunday morning, wore socks with sandals.

The sock-and-sandal scandal didn't stop there -- as Twitter users pointed out, the slides seemed waytoo small for Kanye's paternal faux pas feet. Did he grab North West's slippers by mistake?

I mean, sure, it's definitely a look. Who among us hasn't donned a younger (much smaller) siblings' sandals when called upon to help unload groceries from the car?
Even his wife Kim Kardashian roasted him for the slippers. In an Instagram story, she asked through giggles, "The real question is, do those fit? What size are those?"

As Kanye later claimed on Tuesday, this is, he says, the "Japanese way" of wearing slides.
He was probably referencing the zōri and geta, traditional Japanese sandals often worn alone or with socks. According to multiple Japanese fashion blogs, letting your heel hang off like this helps you balance, especially when wearing a narrow kimono.

Then he followed up on Thursday, tweeting a photo of him wearing massive slides.
"Are the slides big enough," he asked his critics.
In a mirror selfie he posted, he's dwarfed by these absolute units of slippers. They're probably larger than his infant daughter Chicago. Forget Pluto, these slippers will take the place of the ninth planet. These slippers have their own their own orbital force.

Kanye also tweeted a photo of he and Kim at 2 Chainz's wedding, featuring the Photoshopped giant slippers and all.

To be honest, these huge slippers look super comfy. Nothing says "cozy night in" like fluffy Yeezys and some hot discourse about defending dangerous ideology, right?

Knowing Kanye's fanbase, these gigantic slippers will definitely be copied. You're sure to catch streetwear bros posing with their huge slides and captioning it, "Today's fit" within the next week.
