Samsung's Galaxy Fold, it seems, was just the beginning.

During its Samsung Developer Conference 2019, which kicked off on Tuesday, the company published a new YouTube video, showing a new, clamshell-style foldable phone form factor.

"Samsung will continue to explore a range of new form factors in the foldable category. And at SDC19, Samsung invited developers and users alike to join the exploration of exciting new use cases and user experiences," the company wrote in the video's description.

The video gives us a peek at how an interface for this clamshell foldable phone would work in certain real-life situations. At one point, the phone displays a cooking video; when folded to a 90-degree angle, the video retracts to the upper part of the phone's display, whereas the video controls remain in the bottom, horizontal part which also doubles as a stand.

The video makes no mention of any specific device and is likely just a preview of what Samsung's been working on.

Rumors that Samsung is launching a clamshell foldable phone have been around since March; allegedly, the company is launching one next year. It might not be the first to do it, though; Motorola is also working on a foldable flip phone, and it might come out late this year.
